Volunteering at Mar Vista
We are a wonderful community school thanks to committed families who attend and partner with our dedicated principal, teachers, and staff. There are many ways for families to get involved and we encourage everyone to reach out to the principal, teachers, room parents, PTA and/or Mar Vista School Enrichment Group (MVSEG) booster club to find out where you can make an impact.
Everyone has something to give which makes Mar Vista School a wonderful and diverse community it is today. Your participation is highly encouraged. Please consider an option that works best for your family: donate your time, donate your money, donate your expertise!
Any adult who wants to volunteer at school, in the classroom, or attend field trips must submit an online volunteer application (see information below). All volunteers must sign in and out at the front desk or main office, and wear a visible VOLUNTEER BADGE or VISITOR PASS while on campus. Please make arrangements to volunteer in the classroom directly with your child’s teacher. Volunteers are not permitted to discipline or reprimand any student, but should discuss any concern with the classroom teacher. Volunteers should not discuss any personal information or observations with other families, and should always respect the privacy of all students and staff.

For NEW APPLICANTS, please follow these instructions.

For returning families, the volunteer application must be renewed annually at LAUSD APP or Parent Portal.

If you have a new child entering Mar Vista, please add him or her to your renewal application.

The application and approval process by the District can take up to two months, so please plan ahead.

Please do NOT contact the office regarding your completed application; schools receive automated notifications.

TB CLEARANCE:

For new applicants, proof of TB clearance must be submitted to the office for your application to be processed.

TB clearance must be within 60 days before beginning volunteer service.

For renewing applicants, proof of TB clearance must be submitted to the office every 4 years.
